Best Shops in Ireland Shortlist

Charlie Byrne's Bookshop has been shortlisted for Best Bookshop in Ireland by The Irish TimesThe staff of Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop are delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted for Bookshop of the Year! The Irish Times Best Shops in Ireland competition has been running for the past few weeks, and we are thrilled to have been nominated for the bookshop category (and we even got a mention in the Irish Times’s Saturday magazine!) Our customers have overwhelmed us with their enthusiasm during the voting process, and we are so appreciative of their continuous support.

The Irish Times Best Shops in Ireland competition features categories for artisan food stores, bookshops, butchers, craft shops, cafés and tea rooms, boutique and vintage stores, and hairdressers and beauty salons. So Charlie Byrne’s has found itself in good company alongside the other shortlisted bookshops: the Clifden Bookshop, in Clifden, Co. Galway; An Siopa Leabhar on Harcourt Street in Dublin; and the Rathfarnham Book Shop in Rathfarnham, Dublin. Galway is well represented in the Best Shops competition: two Galway bookshops (including ourselves!) were shortlisted for the award, as well as the contemporary Irish design shop My Shop…Granny Likes It. Check out the shortlist of 50 finalists, whittled down from over 600 nominations – and stay tuned for the winners on September 7th!
