Fantastic World Book Week in Charlie Byrne’s

Storyteller Olivia reading stories during World Book Day, and World Book week in Charlie Byrne's Bookshop

Olivia reading Shark in the Dark to an enthralled senior infants class

We had a fantastic World Book Week in Charlie Byrne’s, sharing stories with over 300 children in the shop and local schools. Children from junior infants right up to second class shared literary adventures with storyteller Olivia, reading about everything from eggs and penguins, to pirates, trolls and dragons. World Book Week is such a valuable week for introducing children to reading for fun and developing a love of books, and ours was thoroughly enjoyed by staff and school children alike!

Our Saturday morning storytime was also a big hit this week, with a great crowd and lots of our favourite stories about books and reading like Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book by Julia Donaldson, and Again! by Emily Gravett.

Everyone is a reader, some just haven't found their favourite book yetWe have children’s storytime every Saturday from 11 – 12, and we’re always happy to share stories with schools. If you’d like to arrange a story session in Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop, or have Olivia visit your school, visit our Schools page or drop us a line!
