Join us Saturday the 3rd of December from 4pm for the launch of Fermata; Writings Inspired by Music edited by Eva Bourke and Vincent Woods featuring the work of over 65 poets in response to jazz, traditional Irish music, classical, country, blues, opera, rock and pop.
In musical notation a ‘fermata’ is a pause or a hold extending the length of the note played, literally a breathing space. This collection provides a breathing space to engage with the responses of poets and writers to music in all its varied forms, from classical, to trad, jazz, blues, rock and music from nature. Fermata is a symphony of diverse and lively voices responding to the most beloved of all the arts – music.
Featuring poems from writers such as Seamus Heaney, Rita Ann Higgins, Gabriel Rosenstock, Louis De Paor, Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin and Paula Meehan, Fermata is an impressively orchestrated anthology.
Available in store for €25, Fermata will be launched on the 3rd of December from 4pm and is certain to be an event not to be missed. For more information, or to reserve a copy, simply contact us.
