New Issues & Experiences Shelf for Children

New Issues & Experiences Section

Charlie Byrne’s children’s section has had a revamp! We now have a newly expanded issues and experiences section with books covering a number of important and difficult issues faced by children today in both an informative and child friendly approach.

Books on where babies come from

If you have a new baby on the way and your child is anxious about becoming a big brother or sister, or you simply have a child curious about where baby comes from, we have some light-hearted story books and non-fiction on the topic of babies.

Books for teenagers

For older teens and young adults, we have a number of books for coping with the stresses of adolescence, with titles covering everything from acne, to relationships, to self confidence. We’ve also got a few books perfect for helping stressed out parents cope with their teenagers!

Books on bereavement

We also have a few special titles to help younger children to understand and cope with bereavement, varying from fictional picture book stories to practical guides to understanding your emotions when a loved one passes away.

Dyslexia friendly books

An ever expanding aspect to our Issues & Experiences section also now includes books which are suitable for dyslexic readers, audio books and graphic novels. Our audio book selection include a number of Jacqueline Wilson titles as well as several picture books which include a read along CD complementary to the text. We also have some Barrington Stoke books which specialize in books that are perfect for dyslexic readers in terms of font size, spacing and paragraph structure, with many new titles on their way!

These are only a few samples of what our Issues & Experiences section has to offer, if you require any further information about any of the titles or topics above please don’t hesitate to contact our kid’s books manager Ruth who will be glad to assist you!
